My mother can't breath when she coughs. What should she do?

My mother had the flue a month ago and still has coughs really bad. One daytime she passed out while going to the bathroom and then woke up. She went to the doctor and told her she had bronchitis. They sent her posterior home with an inhaler. A few minutes ago she began coughing and saying she can't breathe. She's better in a minute but it's starting to worry me a lot. What else should she do? It's like they only threw an inhaler at her and told her to go home. Does anyone have any idea on the subsequent step she should take?

Tell her to walk to another doctor as soon as possible so she can start getting better.
