Answers: She should get an antibiotic and a decongestant from the doctor. I've had bronchitis and it almost never go away on its own. The last time I had it the doctor gave me an antibiotic and a strong decongestant to clear my chest.I know what your mom is going through because sometimes I would cough so much I couldn't confine my breath.
Does your mom have asthma too? I do and it does not interact well with bronchitis.
