Missed time of year, do I start my subsequent pack of birth control anyways?

This is my first month of taking birth control. I'm towards the very end of the pack near one pill left and they already told me that I could potentially miss a period. So do I a short time ago start the next pack right after? Or do I have to keep on until I get my period again?

Answers:    Once you've taken the later pill, the next day, you start the subsequent pack. Don't wait for your period..
You're currently on your first pack, and own tomorrow's pill left?
You're meant to own the week break anyway. Sometimes you might not get your period, sometimes you take it on the last day of the break. Keep on a rota with your pills anyway: 3 weeks of pill-taking, 1 week off, 3 weeks pill-taking, 1 week past its sell-by date etcetcetc. :) Once you start the pill...take them everyday and don't leave a cranny. Just finish all of the pills in the pack and later move on to the next. The poster above negotiations about 3 weeks of active and 1 week of sugar pills (which are in attendance to help you stay on a schedule). But depending on the brand of your pills...there are helpful pills even in the last week. So don't skip any.simply take them everyday.with or short a period.
