The average age of menopause is 51, but can range between 45-55.There is a phase called perimenopause which precedes menopause by 2-8 years and is characterized by a rise within serum FSH. The common symptoms include menstrual irregularity, any changes contained by the nature of your periods, hot flashes, and darkness sweats. The hot flashes are commonly associated with
- premenstrual symptoms history
- being around areas beside warm air
- plumpness
- smoking
Menopause is diagnosed with there are at lowest 6 months of no periods *and* elevated serum FSH. Common symptoms include
- vasomotor symptoms i.e. hot flashes, night sweats
- vaginal change - dryness, loss of elasticity --> making you more susceptible to vaginal infections
- hair changes - smaller quantity on scalp, more on face
- urinary changes - discomfort on urination, frequent urinating, incontinence, suprapubic strain
- connective tissue changes - especially the bone and skin
- psychologic - sleep disturbance, depression
In a nutshell, when menopause starts to come around, your FSH blood levels will rise, and as far as labs are concerned, that's probably the best instrument to assess it. Then again, what you described can be due to anything else e.g. medications, other conditions (such as hyperthyroidism, benign tumors, and so forth), etc.
The best way to assess this would be beside a licensed professional. Sorry I couldn't give you a more specific answer, but I hope it helped! Below are reliable websites on menopause run by medical institutions if you are interested.
My wife is 47 and only just had a blood test done to check if she have started her menopause. Her periods have become irregular and she have the odd hot flush but nothing foremost. It transpires she is not in the menopause but is pre-menopausal.
The only legitimate way to find out is to see your GP and have a simple blood tryout done Marrianne. And if you're not going through it they may be able to give you direction to help you out.
If you were going through menopause consent to me tell you, you would know about it, blood clots is one of the symptoms but also tiredness, bloated, cranky, hot, sweaty. If you are into doctors walk and see your local one, but I would try a good naturopath or homeopath first. Don't let it renovate your life, get lying on it. Good Luck.
A few years ago my mom (now 50) had similar symptoms. She was bleeding so much she have to change her tampon every half an hour for a couple of months surrounded by a row. She went to her doctor and she said she had periomenopause. If I be you, I would go to your doctor and get it checked out basically to be safe. Good luck!
This is disgusting, but i obligation to know!!?
