Answers: They're not made of rubber, they're made of latex, and it can degrade over time, departure the condom weaker and more likely to split or break.
They last moderately a while though (something like two years?)..
the latex and the lubricant on the condom breaks down. when out of date, the condom any already has a hole in, or it is remarkably easy to split - then here would be no point in wearing it as it wouldn't prevent pregnancy or STDs
