Has anyone ever heard of having calcium deposits surgically removed to PREVENT cancer or any other reason?

My stepmom is going to hold a surgical biopsy and to enjoy calcium deposits surgically removed on Monday. Isn't at hand any easier bearing to purloin a biopsy and is it obligatory to remove calcium deposits?

Calcium deposits do not lead to cancer. I am assuming you are chitchat roughly speaking calcification found on a mammogram. Breast cancer can exact the calcifications, not the other channel around.

Microcalcifications on a mammogram are one sign of potential breast cancer. Not adjectives microcalcifications are due to breast cancer.

I should also incorporate that not adjectives cancer show calcifications. For example loads of chest x-rays that hold calcifications are usual NOT cancer.

There are two main ways to biopsy breast calcifications, beside a stereotactic core plunger biopsy or a wire-localization start (surgical) biopsy. Both own their advantages and draw back. I would assume this be discussed beside your mother. However, if it be not she absolutely have the prerogative to ask just about alternative option. I should not that nearby are instances where on earth unambiguous biopsy might be superior to stereotactic biopsy.
