I do not know much about them but from what my mother have told me Depo-Shots cause you not to enjoy your period and is also an form of birth control. My mother have recieves these shots and something has really get me bothered, she has be having her term still with the shots, and I thought she be not supposed to have it anymore, this is really bothering me. Can anyone detail me why she is still having her interval even though she is on the shot?

depo provera contains hormones that take home your body think that you are pregnant so that you do not release eggs. That is how it works. There is no egg to be fertilized.

A woman have a period because, earlier ovulation, the body releases a hormone to signal the uterus to prepare itself for pregnancy. The uterine wall fills up near blood and waits for a fertilized egg to surround. If no egg is implanted, the wall sheds, and that's where the blood comes from.

for some women, the depo interferes beside that process so that the woman does not have a length at all. However, every women's body react differently to medications and hormones. It is possible for your mom to still hold a period even though she doesn't release eggs (due to the depo). There are women who even enjoy their period while they are PREGNANT.

So its mundane. The answer is, everyone is different and we all act in response differently.

There are side effects to depo provera. I didn't have period at all, but it cause my hair to plummet out and to gain weight. Some women dont enjoy problems with this (like i mentioned, we adjectives react different) but I hold heard stories of it scheduled to other girls as well.

I dont recommend it. I recommend a birth control pill resembling jasmine or ortho tri cyclin.
