Make sure you're not using one that's too big for how much your flow is (use one next to pink or yellow printing), rest your foot on the tub edge and in recent times push it in a moral way. If you can still discern it when you're standing (or sitting) it is not in far enough, and it will hurt! Just carry a few and practice until you're comfortable using them.

I usually use OB, I prefer them, and I've never had to "dig" for the string to take it out.

you know what you can do is lately use the applicator and cut the string a little so it doesnt droop out...i dont like the ob tampons beside out an applicator because you gotta dig to grasp the tampon out when its time .

But one leg up, it's easier to insert any tampon that way. If you hold some lubricant of some sort, put some on the end, OB's shift in easier that route.
