Trouble is that relations break down serotonin at different rates, it could be that in depressed patients the problem is break down rather than dearth. Hence the drugs used are SSRIs= selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors, rather than serotonin precursors. There is still one of these on the flea market, but it is only prescribable by hospital specialists. It is call Optimax. You could discuss it with your GP ( it is an antiquated drug and he may have have no contact with it), however he would necessitate to refer to consider prescription.
I've read about overcast chocolate and bread, but I don't think you'll be capable of consume enough to preserve it free flowing in your brain. Exercise is another producer- how long can you do that, though? Good luck- I have impossible to tell apart problem and don't take any meds. I only just live with it since I am not a pill character. I just force myself to do stuff.

The depression and serotonin story is about availabilty of free serotonin and the brain and is to do beside receptor sites at nerve ending trapping the free serotonin. It is therefore not really related to serotonin and the diet.
