Has anyone tried the Essure tubal implants and if so do you like them? Any side effects or problems as of yet?
I do not want children but wanted an alternative to tubal ligation surgery.

I researched them extensively and decided that traditional TL be a better (read: safer/more secure) alternative.
They actually enjoy a fairly illustrious rate (14% or better) of complications including perforation of the uterine cavity, misalignment, etc.
There is also no reliability data beyond 4 years, because they be only approved for use surrounded by 2001.
They are not immediately powerful and may not be even after the 3 month "obstruction" process because of spontaneous expulsion from the uterine cavity or lack of mark tissue build up.
You also need to procure a HSG test (a contrast dye is injected into your uterus and x-rays are taken); this can be mortified at best, but some women have allergic reaction to the contrast and in some cases embolisms hold occurred from this audition.
Please be fully informed before you proceed near this choice!
