Gynae - discharge record?

Went to GP for follow up but they don't have copy of discharge letter (hand deliver by my daughter!) so had no idea what to comment on. After laparoscopy: '...typical ... . utero sacral ligaments obliterated. 2x spots of endometriosis in POD...'
OK -
should the fullstop be in the past 'obliterated' and what is 'POD'?

i would have to say yes to the fullstop query, and my guess for POD is pouch of douglas.

POD is Pouch of Douglas. If you phone up the gynaecology ward they will have a copy of your discharge letter which you should enjoy received when discharged. There should have been 3 copies made, one for yourself, one for the GP and the other stays surrounded by your hospital notes.
