If a woman have had breast implant, is it more difficult for her to detect a tumor through a self-exam?
Yes. The implant are not under the muscle as suggested but surrounded by a pocket behind the breast. Sometimes women develop stiff tissues around implant (body rejecting them a little) and these knobbles could mask any serious lumps.
